Carter's Winter Update 2016/2017

 Bowling date with Tam
 Read, read, read!
I just discovered that Carter's favorite candy is gummy candy, just like me!
30 book challenge at school. Carter came in the top 3 of his class and earned a lunch date with the Principal!
Carter decided that he did not want to cut his hair for a while to see how "hockey hair" looks on him:) He wakes up every morning with SERIOUS bed head!
An unprompted card for mom and dad:)
His Minecraft Valentine box for school. He came up with the idea! Love his creativity!
 Stylin'
Carter's class all wrote nice things about each other this winter:)
One of his many Lego creations
 School work
 Being silly
Uncle Dave asked Carter what color shirt he wanted for Christmas. Pink was his choice this year!
We've been impressed with how Carter's piano skills have been coming along. Lately he has been both reading sheet music and also playing songs by ear.
Carter decided he wanted to spend his own money to bring Mrs. Huus a coffee. Made her day!

Carterisms from the winter:
-"Mom, can you google something for me?"
Me: "Sure, hon."
Carter: "Ok. Type this-'Why does my penis hurt after swim lessons?'. Why aren't you typing?"

-"I'm an inch away from positive..."

-"Mom, when you bend over, I can see your breasts." (yikes...thanks for the heads up!)

-During worship one Sunday we were all clapping to a song. He started adding in daps and a roll on. It was amazing

March Madness

Twinning! Carter got dressed and Crosby followed suit:)
 Awana Derby races
We got tickets to a UND men's basketball game! The boys saw Leah (the girl I disciple on the women's team) on the wall and were super excited!
Here is Leah after her last home game. It was such a privilege meeting with her weekly this year.
 The first taste of spring!
After showers one night I found the boys in the bathroom styling their hair!
Carter and Cooper are taking tennis lessons this spring and Crosby is doing swim lessons. They overlap at Choice which is nice for me:)
Allie and Annie came to town for a night while Tim was in Minneapolis for meetings. So fun to hang out with them!

Mexico!

My mom turned 70 this past month! Shannon and the girls had planned to visit mom and dad in Mexico over her birthday. About a month ago my sister had this crazy idea for my brother and me to fly down and surprise her. Nothing was working on my end with flights and finances so I thought it was not possible. But then my brother and sister called and said they, along with my dad, were going to pitch in and help with my flight! I was so humbled and excited and felt so very loved!! My dad met me when I arrived and we quickly got our suits on and went down to the pool where I swam up behind my mom and surprised her. She did a triple take, a scream and then cried. It was beautiful and wonderful!! Then we enjoyed 3 days together at the ocean:)
 Dinner at sunset!
I love these two crazies:)
Mom's request on her birthday was for the whole fam to do water aerobics. Such a blast!
We spent lots of time at the beach and pools, eating lunches poolside, reading, playing with the kids, walking on the beach, going down water slides...it was very relaxing and the weather was perfect!
Nana's 70th birthday dinner! We gave her cards and she cried:) We sang and talked and enjoyed each other. What a gift to celebrate this amazing woman!!

Florida!

Mimi and Gramps bought a place in Venice, FL so we decided to head south for spring break and visit them!
The boys were so excited for their first flight!! We had a 3 hour delay but they made friends in the airport.
Cooper kept saying, "How cool! I have my OWN tray!!" The people around us were entertained by their excitement!
The boys were so tired when we got in:)
The weather was pretty cool but the boys still got in the water every day!
We got to see Pinta and Nina replica ships that were docked in Venice!
The boys would have spent endless hours collecting seashells.
For Christmas, Mimi and Gramps got us tickets to Legoland. This is ALL the boys have talked about since returning home. They LOVED it!!!
Rides, shows, displays...amazing for Lego lovers!
 One family pic:)
Our flight was also delayed on the way home. This was just the car ride to the airport. They were such great troopers. We made to it our beds in Eden Prairie by 3am. So proud of them! And such a fun trip!!
