Week in MSP Without Tim, Part 3

Another part of our week-long adventure was a day trip to Stillwater to see Mimi and Gramps! It was sort of a cloudy and rainy day but we got out for a morning walk. Ezra also joined us for the day! He is 9 months now and Crosby was especially interested in him.
Our walk around the neigborhood.
Three boys on a wall...it won't be long before Ez can join them!
And here is Cros trying to take care of his little cousin! We had a good time playing with Mimi and Gramps. The rain kept us inside the rest of the day and the boys were going stir crazy so we went to a McDs playland for dinner.

Week in MSP Without Tim, Part 2

One of the mornings that we were in the Cities, I met up with a great college friend and her family at a cool park in Bloomington.
These two guys were born just 3 days apart!
Noelle and Aaron have three kids and I was pleasantly surprised by how well they all played together!
Picnic lunch followed by all sorts of games and wrestling. The boys came home so tired! It helped having Aaron their to chase them around so Noelle and I could actually talk and catch up:)
And one last pic before we took off!

Week in MSP Without Tim, Part 1

Like I said in my last post, in order to get our floors done, I needed to leave town with the boys. My parents graciously let us stay with them and I braved the 5 hour car ride with the 3 wee ones. They did okay. Not great, but we made it. And just in time to celebrate...
Uncle Dave's birthday! I can't remember the last time we got to be with him on his big day!

We also got to meet Christy. We like her!
The boys got lots of time with their cousins, Sawyer and Devin. Here they are playing with the doctor kit that Shan, Dave and I had as kids!
The Worums now live in Eden Prairie about a 1/4 mile from my parent's place. We walked over to their place quite a bit. I'm sure they are thankful we actually live 5 hours away instead of 5 minutes:)
We spent as much time as we could at parks. The kids seem to have more pent up energy on the road. And especially when they are without their dad. Parks work great for that!
One of the highlights from the trip...music on the porch in the middle of a thunderstorm!
Another highlight...great time with my brother!
We also got to spend Mother's Day with my mom and sister which we haven't done in years! We went to church in the morning and then met the Worums at a park. Shannon and I were able to take mom out for sushi one evening and then for pedicures on Saturday to celebrate! As I'm writing this post I'm remembering how many things we did in one week:)
 Bonding with Nana and Papa!
Nana took us to the Mall of America where she treated the boys to rides and lunch at the Rainforest Cafe!
They loved the rides but kept begging to go back to Lego land. I'm not sure why...we probably squeezed in 2000 hours playing with legos this winter;)
And last but not least, we got to celebrate Devin's 1st birthday! Again, what a week!!
Pizza and cupcakes! And getting the cousins together again. What a blessing!

Floor Project

A couple of years ago we discovered that there were original hardwood floors underneath our carpeting. We've been wanting to rip out our carpet and finish them for so long! Especially since our dining room was carpeted. Ewww! We finally set aside some time where I could take the boys out of town so Tim could move all the furniture, rip out all the carpet on the main level, and then get help sanding and finishing the floors. It was a CRAZY week but we are so happy about how it turned out!
Tim started a section before we left town so the boys could see.
Ahhhh isn't that nice??! Now we just need to get some rugs and we are set! I'll blog about my week away with the boys next:)

Awana Closing Ceremony

The big boys finished up their year at Awana the other night. They both finished their books and memorized all the verses so they got their ribbons and certificates. Carter will move on to Sparks next year and Cooper will be in his 2nd year as a Cubbie. They were pretty proud:)

Trip to the Dentist

The big boys had dentist appointments the other day. It was Cooper's first time ever and he was pretty excited!
Cooper was relieved though when Carter agreed to go first.
Cooper is a little more hesitant about new experiences so Carter held his hand for a while:)
Here he is! Being so brave and even having some fun.
While I was trying to take pics of Cooper, Carter kept jumping in front of the camera:)
All done!

Easter Weekend 2014

We decided to stay in Grand Forks this year for Easter. With our fundraising banquet and staff conference, the spring gets a little busy so we thought it would be best to stay home.
We had our dear friends, the Dahls up on Friday and Saturday. They have 3 kids and a foster child right now so our house was rocking with 7 kids ages 6-and-under! Thankfully it was beautiful out and we could enjoy the park. And thankfully the kids all went to bed on Friday so the adults could talk:)
On Sunday we went to church and then after naps we did a little Easter egg hunt outside. Look at those handsome boys in their sweater vests!
Crosby got really into it this year. It's so fun watching him try to keep up with his big brothers.

That evening we had Tammy over and grilled burgers. Non-traditional, but a really fun day!
He is risen indeed! And we want to celebrate on Easter and every day!
