Crosby's January-March Update 2016

Cros is becoming quite the little artist!
Cros got headphones for Christmas so now he can listen to music just like his brothers:)
Hanging out with Mason. These two have had so many playdates this year!
 Sweet Cros!
He can now beat me once in a while in Memory!
Cros doesn't nap much anymore but a couple of times lately, I've laid down with him and he's fallen to sleep. Such good bonding time with my littlest man!
Cheering on the American Ninja Warriors! Crosby's favorite show is still Paw Patrol but he'll engage when it's family tv time!
Busted!

Crosbyisms from the past 3 months:
-He frequently will ask people at the check out line if they know about Jesus:)

-One time, at Target, he asked the girl why there were inappropriate magazines where he could see them!

-We were talking about who is the funniest in our family, "Dad is the funniest but Mom thinks that she is!!" #burn I don't think it, I know it!!

-Crosby: "Will you read me one more book, Mom?"
Me: "No Cros, it's bed time."
Cros: "Please, I'll be your best buddy!"
Me: "Cros, it's bed time."
Cros: "Please, you'll be the bestest Mommy ever!"
Me: "Are you trying to manipulate me?!"
Cros: "Yes!"

-Cros was looking through my phone and saw a picture of me and Tim. I said, "Isn't your daddy the greatest guy on earth??"
To which he replied in horror, "WHAT. ABOUT. ME??!"

-We did a 3 month membership to the Y this winter and so once in a while I'll take Cros there so I can work out. He does NOT LIKE going to childcare there. No idea why but he is not a fan!

Cooper's January-March Update 2016

Cooper's spring picture! He asked to wear the mask and hat but they told him "no".

This is classic Cooper artwork as of late. He comes home with all sorts of little intricate drawings and then he glues them all on a big sheet. He has really enjoyed drawing and coloring lately.
Cooper is so creative with his play. He especially loves the Lego guys and makes up all kinds of stories about them.
Working on Valentines for his classmates.
Cooper has been getting lots of Viking Pride Awards!
Trying on my National Championship ring:)
Cooper came out dressed for the day and said he wanted to look like a Cheetah because that is his favorite animal!
 Jammin'
Working on sight words. He is almost through all 100. He has put in so much hard work!

Cooperisms from the past 3 months:
-Cooper loves skinny jeans. He has 3 pairs and will hardly wear anything else.

-One night during Bible time I asked the boys to close their eyes and imagine walking through the Red Sea. I asked them what they saw and Cooper said, "Nothing, Mom. My brain doesn't work that way. I'm not seeing any fish. I just see blackness!"

-Cooper loves to make his bed and have things in his room organized. Sometimes he just sleeps on top of his blankets so he doesn't mess things up!

-The other day I came in to find that Cooper had totally rearranged his room. His bunk bed is now in the center of the room.

-Cooper loves to debate and challenges almost everything we says with, "Wellllll..."

-He is also pretty dramatic and frequently let me know that "This is the worst day EVER!"

-Cooper: "Mom, do girls always wear white dresses and boys wear fancy black outfits at their weddings?
Me: "It's not required. It's just more of a tradition"
Cooper: "What is a tradition?"
Me: "Hmmm, it's something you do over and over again. Like we put up a tree at Christmas time. And we eat bacon on Saturday mornings."
Cooper: "Oh, so like you and dad kissing is a daily tradition?"
:)

-Carter: "Hey Cooper, what is your weakness?"
Cooper: "Guess."
Carter: "Kryptonite?"
Cooper: "Nope."
Carter: "Girls?"
Cooper: "Nooooooo!"
Carter: "What then?"
Cooper: "I have two. Hand sanitizer and chain saws."
Carter: "Gotcha."

Carter's January-March Update 2016

Carter's spring picture:)
Carter still loves football the best and dreams of being a football player when he grows up! He has been playing A LOT of basketball lately too:)
Carter loves to write stories! They are so fun to read..."I like Froggy books. Jonathan Landon is my favorite author and in this picture is froggy being a police frog and his friend is a robber. I am so excited to finish my book."
"Go to jail bad guy or else you will have to give the money back and next time there won't be any chances.
Ok, I will. Here. Just kidding. Oh no, he's running to the Empire State building. Wait, that is no the Empire State Building. That is the Eiffel Tower. Wait, we don't live in Paris, France. But that is the Eiffel Tower. Oh no, he's ripping it down!"
He rarely misses a spelling word, even on his pre-tests!
Carter came home from school one day and wanted to play M.A.S.H. I used to play that all the time in elementary school! Such a fun trip down memory lane.
I took Carter to a UND Women's bball game this spring. He was engaged the whole game and then loved trying to find my pictures in the foyer:)
White t and head phones. So cute!
Up until very recently Carter has had 4 big holes in his mouth where teeth are missing. Thankfully they are finally starting to grow in!
Carter still talks about Nehemiah. I love that he included him in both his Scrabble family names and family picture. So sweet.
Tim and Carter watched a couple of Youtube videos to learn how to do a 2x2 Rubix cube. He's a pro!
Carter at 6 months and at 7 1/2 years. Crazy how fast these years have flown by.

Carterisms from the past 3 months:
-He still wants to sleep alone in the basement even when we don't have foster placements. He asked to decorate it with Iowa Hawkeye stuff!
-He loved learning to skate this winter and had such determination!
-He is always throwing things in the air and trying to catch them. He'll do it while watching tv, while walking around the house, etc.
-"Mom, I'm not Courtney's boyfriend anymore. She said we were because she was crushing on me but now she is crushing on someone else. I don't really care. I didn't even know I was her boyfriend!"
-I was on a dating/marriage panel this winter at Cru. They boys knew that I was going to speak. A couple of weeks later Carter said, "Mom, remember when you went to talk to the Cru college kids about how to get wives?" Hahahaaha
-"Mom, why is your hair turning gray? Are you becoming a grandma?"
-"Dad, why are your hands warm and mom's hands are always cold? Is it because you always sleep in?"
-Carter always wants Tim or me to play with him, whether it is sports or Legos or games.
