Carter's pics Spring/Summer 2018

A couple pics and updates from Carty Man...
Crosby did a couple rounds of swim lessons and most of the time he preferred to read on the pool deck over swimming:)
One of his many Viking Pride awards
A mega beyblade. Carter is always creating with Legos
 Mr. Blue eyes
"When I am 100 I will look old and wrinkly and have messed up hair and I'll be messy and always have a smile. I will have 3 grandchildren and a cabin and a lake and a walking stick and a watch and glasses. I will be dirty and clumsy, nice and grateful. WOW it's crazy to imagine what life will be like in 100 years."
 Wart removal
 Mother's Day gifts
 Some art projects from school
 Spring school pics
Carter spent lots of time on the tramp this summer and got his flip down!
 Loving Life
Supporting his friend Brody's dad who is running for sheriff
Carter got to go to two UND hockey games this winter!
Carter made himself a bitmoji on my phone!
The cold and snow won't stop him!
When we were in NJ, Carter texted and sent Marcos (video messages) to his two buddies, Sawyer and Tyson

A couple quotes from Carty Man:

For his St. Patrick's Day project at school Carter wrote: "If I found a pot of gold I would buy a million Bibles to give to people all around the world so they could hear the Word of God!"

Questions at bedtime:
"Will we actually get to watch God defeat Satan?"
"If Abraham was alive before Jesus, how were his sins forgiven?"
"If God can't be in the presence of sin and Abraham died before Christ could pay for his sins, what happened to Abraham between his death and Christ's death?"
"How is it possible that God doesn't have a beginning? Can you explain that to me?"

Me: "Hey kids, who do you think would be most likely to get a tatoo in our family?"
Carter: "Cooper John. He'd get a skull with a dagger through it."
(Guess they've talked about it:) )

Carter occasionally will talk about cool cars he dreams up. I told him he should design it and make it himself someday. His response: "Oooooooh! Then I'd get a discount!"

Carter's 10th Birthday

It feels surreal to have a 10 year old. I've been a mom for a decade? Really?? I remember the day this kid was born like it was yesterday. The unimaginable joy, and then the tears of fear as we left the hospital and realized that we were fully responsible for this small human being!
Carter MacLeod, we love you more than words can express! You've completely changed our lives in the best possible way. We love watching you experience life-so expressive, enthusiastic, adventurous and brave. You have a confidence and independence that are impressive to us. (When all your good friends picked football for a fall sport, you picked soccer because you thought you'd like that better). You make friends so easily-you are kind, inclusive and so fun to be around. You have amazing God-given gifts in sports and academics. You are growing in character and are trustworthy.
Happy birthday buddy! xoxo
His excitement over my "yes" to getting cheese balls for his b-day party!
Most of his good buddies could make it!
Landon Rinde, Tyson Vanyo, Sawyer Harlow, Brody Schneider, Cooper Barendt and Gabe Schauer (Easter Weisser couldn't make it).
Carter asked to have a pinada at his party! The guys loved it!
He picked a robot cake which surprised us but then he told us it had the most frosting!
The guys spent the party time playing with nerf guns (like most days here)!
Power clashing on his 10th birthday! I tried to help him change but he said he wanted to double up on plaid being that it was his big day!

Carter's 9th Birthday Party

Carter asked to have a Nerf Gun party for his 9th birthday. We asked to borrow the church gym and set up a few boxes and tables for bunkers and voila!
Tim planned some games including target practice, capture the flag and elimination. The boys had a blast!!
Sawyer, Tyson, Brody, Gabe, Landon, Easton and the bros!
We ended the time with pizza, cake and presents!

Carter's Book on Someone "Famous"

Carter was given an assignment in class to write a book about someone famous. He came home from school so excited to tell me that he picked ME...because of the Hall of Fame! I didn't have the heart to tell him that my team was inducted, not me individually, and that I'm really not famous:) His teacher helped him do some research and here is his book! Sooooo sweet:)

Carter's School Program

The 2nd graders at Viking Elementary put on a winter program before Christmas.
Carter was so excited and animated! Loved watching him and his friends!
