Superhero Room

Some dear friends gave us a hand-me-down bunk bed a while ago and we finally got it set up. This led to switching the boys room around because the bunk wouldn't fit in their old room. We painted the room and decided to go with a Superhero theme. Here are some pics...
My friend Britta gave us the idea for the navy stripes and orange sheets. I love how it turned out with the paint and green curtains. The boys could care less about that but are really enjoying the wall art:)
It's a little tight in their room with two dressers but the room doesn't have a closet so we had to make due.
Papa gave Carter some Superhero hooks for his birthday and they are perfect for hanging up their costumes.
We might eventually take out the old chair and put in some bean bags for a reading corner but for now, this works. And a Pinterest inspired idea-painted frames for their artwork. Voila!

End of Summer

It is so easy to get behind on the blog...here are a couple of pics from the past month or so. It is hard to say bye to summer but we do really love the fall as well!
Our last hot afternoon. Sprinkler, tarp for a slip 'n slide, and three tubs. The slip 'n slide then turned into a tent. Good times. If I do recall though I started with one tub and then so many fights broke out that I got two more. Behind every picture there is usually more to the story:)
We finally got down to Stillwater when the Spark pool was open for business!
I wonder how many hours we spent at parks this summer...hmmm??!
Bike rides! My dad just called to say that he is fixing up my mom's bike and they are gifting it to me!! And some friends also just passed on their bike trailer to us so we will be all set for full family bike rides just in time for winter;-) Unless the Lord is thinking about blessing us with a mild fall. Otherwise we will patiently wait for next summer!

Potato Bowl Week

We love Potato Bowl week!
All you can eat french fries at University Park. Plus about 15 blow up jumpy houses.
Cooper found his buddy Mason at the park and they were inseparable.
 Good times!
Two days after the fair is an awesome parade. It's about an hour and a half long with lots of marching bands, floats, fun vehicles and LOTS and LOTS of candy!!

Meeting Ezra John Spark

Mike and Sherah's sweet baby Ezra was born on August 3rd. We finally got to meet him on Labor Day weekend!
Saturday during the Hawk game...isn't he adorable?? And that hair is amazing!
The boys loved meeting him too! Their first boy cousin:)
Mimi and Gramps with their grandsons!
The boys with their great-grandma Gigi

A Little of This, A Little of That

A little family shot from our deck in Fort Collins
 Neighborhood treasure hunt walk.
"Hey let's take all the blankets off all the beds and wrestle."
They don't care much for personal space!
I was just sitting on the couch and then, BAM, they are all over me!
So sweet that they still will ALL fall asleep in the van. We know this won't last forever!
A couple pics from Blues on the Red. The concert scene got a little crazy so we walked along the river.
Ooops! Went out wearing the same shirt:)

Crosby's August 2013 Update

Crosby Charles, C-Chuck, Chucky Chuck, Charlie Boy, Cros...
 You are just too cute!!
You carry your sippy cup around all the time. Dad loves how you hold it like a football:)
Usually you can hold off until your afternoon nap but some days we push you a little too hard. I love that you fell asleep with a baseball in your hand!
Mr. Cool! You love your sunglasses!

-A dog jumped up on you last month and has put a little fear of animals in you. Now when you see a dog or ant or anything in between you look at me and say, "bite me?". I have overheard you saying "bite me, bite me, bite me" many times! It catches people off guard, that's for sure!
-The other morning you woke up and instead of calling out for mom you said, "Casey, Caaaasey, up please!" Your brothers are influencing you. I'm trying to get you to just call me mom though.
-You are very social and have won over many people at church. The nursery workers always say how sweet you are and your vocabulary has impressed a lot of people as well.
-You say "please" often. It is so sweet.
-Your first three word sentence was "No like shoes"! You wanted sandals and not shoes and let me know!
-You love when we sing to you and especially love the song Jesus Loves Me. When you see an instrument you point to it and say "Jesus" and usually want us to sing it. It is adorable when you try to sing it on your own. You get the first and last words of each section so it comes out like "Jesus know, Bible so".

Cooper's August 2013 Update

Cooper John, Johnny Johns, Coop Johnny John, Coopy, Coops...you've got so many nicknames! Crosby calls you "Coopy" all the time. You call him "baby". We keep trying to get you to call him by his name but you've got it in your head that Carter is your buddy and Crosby is the baby. I'm guessing with Carter in pre-school that will change though. Already in two weeks you have seemed to bond with Crosby and enjoy him! It is fun to watch!
You are always imagining something. We took you boys to the tennis courts the other night. Carter wanted to throw a ball around but you wanted to play Superheros and made up this creative game. It is fun to hear all of the stories and scenarios you come up with. Except at bedtime:) You are an expert staller at bedtime. Oh the bedtime battles. Wow!
Keeping it cool at our staff retreat!
We weren't sure how you were going to adjust to Carter being in school but so far you haven't seemed to be phased by it! Maybe that is because we have been to lots of parks and play-dates:) Or maybe you are just becoming more independent!
