A Typical Photo Shoot

Oh my gosh, mom is letting me hold Cooper again...YAY!!

Let's see what I can get away with today...

Just kidding buddy, sorry about the finger in your ear. At least it wasn't your eye again:)

I love you Cooper!

First Hair Cut

Papa gave Carter his first hair cut over Easter weekend! He was getting sort of a hockey hair/mullet so it was time:)

He didn't really enjoy the process but thankfully Papa was quick:)

Easter with the Sparks

Thankfully our boys travel well as we braved our 3rd road trip since Cooper was born 8 weeks ago. We spent 2 nights in Edina and then 2 in Stillwater. The Sparks gathered for Easter in Stillwater and our boys had five 2nd cousins to play with (all of whom are boys!). Here are some pics:

Our first family picture since we were in the hospital! Carter is still the king of funny faces:)

Chilling with Coops at the end of the day...

Dad and Carter in their matching Easter outfits...not planned but very cute.

The boys in their baby blue outfits. Sherah and Mike gave Cooper his outfit and Bev and Steve blessed us with an adorable outfit for Carter.

Carter loves when we trust him with Cooper during pictures.

Coops still sleeps a lot! He was spoiled and help by many at the Easter festivities.

Carter looking so grown up!
He is getting all of his molars right now and at times gets a bit crabby! For the most part he is fighting through it though:)

Cooper's Two Month Check-up

Here are Cooper's latest stats:
Height: 21 3/4 inches (10th%)
Weight: 11 pounds, 9.8 ounces (40th%)
Head: 30th%

He's still a little guy! Our doctor said she thought the length measurement was off because he seems longer than being in the 10th %. He is outgrowing his 0-3 month clothes so I would agree!

Carter's Latest...

Carter continues to keep us laughing! Here are a couple of his latest things:
-One night at dinner time he kept saying, "family, family". We asked him who was in his family and he replied, "God, Bud, Whipper." Whipper is Mike and Sherah's dog!! Bud felt pretty good about himself but Tim reminded him that in Carter's mind he is less than God but more than a dog:)
-Carter loves stickers and keeps putting them on his face.

-He also repeats EVERYTHING we say lately. So a conversation will look like this:
Mom: It's lunchtime Carter. Are you hungry?
Carter: Hungry
Mom: Should we eat?
Carter: Eat
Mom: Do you want a hotdog?
Carter: HOTDOG!
Mom: You seem pretty excited
Carter: 'Cited!!

Good times!!

-One of Carter's new words is "thank you". It is super sweet but he rarely uses it in context.
-He loves to run and often says, "running, running". That means he wants dad or me to run with him up and down the hallway.
-We will hear him in his crib in the morning or after nap just repeating things over and over. Often times it is "mom, dad, Carter, Coopy, mom dad...". But he mixes it up too! He says, "Nana, Papa, Shannon, Bud, Dave.." And also knows says, "Mimi, Grandpy, Mike, Sherah, Whipper".
-He still loves Elmo and has discovered a picture of Elmo on some of Coopers diapers. There is also a picture of Big Bird and Ernie which he pronounces, "bigga bode and oinee"....so cute!!
-When he sees us with a mug in our hand he points and says, "coffees". Not sure why but he puts an "s" on the end of a lot of words.
-If he really likes something he'll say, "again, 'gain, 'gain" until we look at him. Then he'll say, "Please"!!

Winter Outings

It gets difficult to entertain a toddler in Grand Forks in the winter! A couple of weeks ago Tammy helped me take the boys to the McDonald's playland. Since then we've gone back a couple of times for playdates.
Also, the mall in town has a play area and Carter likes to run around there as well as ride the horse!

Camera Hog

I was attempting to get some pictures of Cooper yesterday...

Isn't he so sweet??!!

Carter was watching me and then came over to see what I was doing...

He thinks his brother is cute as well:)

But Carter didn't want Cooper to get all the attention so he hopped on Cooper's back and got right in the picture!

This was the face I got when I asked Carter to smile pretty!!

Hammer Time

Carter really enjoys his new toy from Nana. It definitely requires supervision though!!

Shannon's Visit

Shannon came to Grand Forks last weekend to hang out and help with the boys while Tim was in the Grand Am basketball tournament. Right when she walked in the door on Friday night Carter said, "SHANNON!, Bud?". He is getting his family associations down:)
Carter enjoyed putting on Shannon's shoes and really loved the bat and ball that Shan, Bud and Dave got for him. Thanks for coming Shan!!

First Smile

...If only I could have captured it on the camera!! That will come soon but for the record, March 18th was Cooper's first smile. Dad even got to see it too:)

Weekend at the Cabin

We decided to take our 2nd road trip as a family of four last weekend. It was Cooper's first time to the Carroll cabin and we ended up having to take him to urgent care for croup:( He is fine now but his cough was pretty scary. Carter loved playing outside in the mud puddles! Nana joined us so we got a little bit more sleep too!

Cooper's 3 Week Photos

Kendra and Hadley came up to Grand Forks again to visit us! They stayed two nights and on the second night she watched the kids so Tim and I could go out on a date:) While we were gone she took these sweet pictures.
Cooper has been much more alert lately. He grunts, snorts and farts a lot so we are hoping he works through this all by junior high or it will be a rough go for him!!
Isn't he SO CUTE??!!!

Carter Update

A couple cute and funny things from Carter lately...
-When he acts up we remind him that he needs to obey mom and dad. For some reason he looks at us and very seriously says, "obeebops". That is his version of obey:) Not sure where it came from but it's pretty cute.
-Carter will point to something or say a word for it. When we ask if he wants us to get it he will quickly reply, "get it!". He has caught on that those are two powerful words, so lately we have been hearing "get it, get it" quite frequently!
-He loves to give high 5's, as well as booms and beeps. Booms are what he calls knucks (pounding fists together). Beeps is such a random thing-instead of putting his fist out for knucks he puts his pointer finger out and wants you to do the same:)

Here are some of Kendra's pics from her two recent visits. It has been more challenging to get Carter to smile...

There is a smile though-so sweet!!!
You can always tell when dad gets Carter dressed! Go Hawkeyes!!

Banjo Dave and Carter

Uncle Dave gives Carter a little banjo lesson!

Playing Catch

Carter loves throwing balls and playing catch. I love how expressive he is!!
